FD2 PLUS FLEXDRAPER® HEADER

More Flexibility!

MacDon didn't set out to build just another flexing cutterbar draper, we took our legendary FlexDraper® header platform and pushed ground-following performance to the next level. With over 2 inches of extra flex at the cutterbar, it hugs the ground tighter, reaching deeper into low spots and scooping up every last bit of available crop. Unlike other flex headers, the FD2 PLUS flexes without compromise, maintaining MacDon's close reel-to-cutterbar relationship for smooth, consistent feeding. The featherlight instant float response keeps the header moving effortlessly with the land, cutting closer, capturing more crop, and helping you GET MORE from every harvest.

MD 10100 UX Pages Products FD2 PLUS Series Flex Draper Header Overview1

WHO'S THE FD2 PLUS FOR?

The FD2 PLUS is built for extremes and customers who feel they need a flexing cutterbar for their conditions.

It’s designed for producers who grow low-podding crops in highly uneven or hilly fields or those who need to navigate challenging terraces and waterways. In these tough conditions, the FD2 PLUS is MacDon’s flexiest solution yet.

Its advanced flexing technology ensures even stubble height, prevents dirt buildup, and maintains optimal reel-to-cutterbar positioning so that every last bit of crop gets off the field and into the combine.

Close Reel-to-Cutterbar Relationship with a Flexing Cutterbar

The FD2 PLUS features a full-length flex cutterbar for exceptional ground tracking while maintaining the majority of the reel-to-cutterbar relationship.

This close alignment is critical for capturing low-podding crops, allowing the reel fingers to lift and guide the cut crop onto the drapers.

In competitive flex cutterbars, excessive flexing may cut the crop, but a wide gap to the tips of the reel fingers could put it out of reach. MacDon’s tight reel-to-cutterbar relationship ensures that cut crop reaches the drapers and flows smoothly into the combine.

FD2 PLUS Series Flex Draper Cutterbar

Flex & Float PLUS a Flexing Cutterbar

The FD2 PLUS features a simple yet highly reliable leaf spring flexing cutterbar, delivering a featherlight float response that instantly adapts to ground conditions.

This system works in tandem with our flexing frame and MacDon’s Active Float System which supports up to 97% of the header’s weight.

Together, these three proven mechanical systems provide a reliable instant float response, allowing the FD2 PLUS to cut extremely close to the ground without pushing dirt.

High-Capacity Multi-Crop Solution

Like the FD2, the FD2 PLUS is built for multi-crop harvesting, seamlessly adapting to different conditions. With just a few easy lockouts, it transforms from a fully flexing frame and cutterbar to a completely rigid unit.

Equipped with 50-inch deep drapers, it effortlessly handles high-volume crops, ensuring smooth, heads-first feeding.*

This versatility allows maximum performance across multiple crops using a single header solution.

An Even Closer Shave of the Ground - Without Compromise

Just cutting the crop isn’t enough—if the crop is not in the combine, it’s not making you money. The challenge with flexible cutterbars is that too much flex can compromise the reel-to-cutterbar relationship, making it hard to capture low-podding crops.

Adding a little over 2 inches of extra flex at the cutterbar, the FD2 PLUS follows the ground even better in extreme conditions, reaching more crop without sacrificing reel-to-cutterbar positioning.*

The low-profile cutterbar and close reel positioning ensure the cut crop is lifted off the ground and smoothly transitioned onto the drapers and into the combine.

Ability to Run a Wider Header in Extremely Irregular Field Conditions

The FD2 PLUS’s ability to closely follow irregular ground allows those with extremely uneven field conditions to consider running a wider header than usual.

With enhanced FlexDraper® performance in every pass, a wider FD2 PLUS would increase efficiency, save time, reduce fuel consumption, and optimize your overall harvesting performance.

Lockouts

Like the FD2, switching the FD2 PLUS from a flexing frame to a rigid frame is as simple as flipping two levers.

The FD2 PLUS also allows operators to lock out the flexible cutterbar with an equally straightforward process. Simply locate the leaf springs, apply leverage with the provided cutterbar tool to lift them, and then insert a lock block.

Wider headers have more leaf springs, but the process remains the same, ensuring a quick, easy conversion.
