Responsibilities
- Diligently action MRP messages to ensure on-time delivery to production and service parts; flag forecasting or demand inconsistencies to planning
- Issue Purchase Orders to suppliers and process supplier acknowledgements
- Proactively communicate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
- Monitor past dues through the Late Purchase Order report and expedite when necessary
- Maintain accurate and current delivery date information in JDE for inbound supplier shipments
- Review, update, and navigate various supply chain reports
- Action Engineering Change Notices affecting assigned suppliers (manage cut-in dates, issue first article POs, supplier communication, etc.)
- Process reject tags by working with supplier quality and engineering on disposition of non-conformant material
- Manage inventory by minimizing/eliminating obsolescence and surplus
- Develop and maintain excellent vendor partnerships
- Communicate with Procurement Specialists on price increases or discrepancies
- Escalate supply risks and inventory concerns to management
- Assist receiving with delivery issues such as quantity discrepancies and missing paperwork
- Maintain MRP parameters, vendor lead times, and BOM offsets
- Other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager
Qualifications
Education
- Post-secondary education and supply chain training preferred.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Innovative self-starter; able to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled team
- Blueprint reading skills
- Working knowledge of MRP systems; proficiency with Excel
- Strong internal and external stakeholder relationship management
- Critical thinking and problem-solving with sound decision-making ability
