Quality Engineering – Intern (4 - month term)

Job Summary

The Quality Engineer Student will work with the Quality Engineers to disposition rejects, troubleshoot quality problems, and participate in quality improvement activities.

 

 Responsibility

  • Participate in the material review board (MRB) and assist in disposition activities
  • Assist in troubleshooting quality problems affecting production
  • Data collection to understand quality problems and to determine root cause
  • Conduct statistical process control and other statistical methods to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop quality procedures or work instructions as required to ensure that Inspectors activities are standardized
  • Participate in continuous improvement events and utilize lean methodologies to identify and reduce waste. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

     

 Academic/Educational Requirements 

  • Currently studying Engineering or Engineering Technology in Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, Process Automation, Mechanical, or equivalent.
  • Experience in statistics and statistical process control
  • Knowledge of quality principles such as 8D, PDCA, 5 Whys would be an asset
  • Experience with the principles and methods of lean manufacturing
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
