MRO Buyer – 14-Month Term
Job Summary
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the MRO Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) items to ensure the smooth operation of MacDon’s facilities and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Diligently processes Purchase Orders for all maintenance requests and send in a timely manner to maintain on-time delivery to internal MacDon customers.
- Maintains supplier acknowledgements and confirms supply.
- Work closely with the maintenance department, providing timely service to requirements.
- Manage contracts and accounts related to maintenance services.
- Highlights and elevates any supply risks to Procurement Specialist or Supply Chain Manager.
- Administers returns for rework, replacement or credit as applicable.
- Develop and maintain excellent vendor partnerships, conduct regular meetings with vendors to strengthen relationships and have them performing to required standards.
- Quote parts for cost competitiveness and maintain GOS (Global Operating Standards) compliance.
- Work with Supplier and Maintenance on validating and approving any alternate material/product prior to implementation.
- Obtain cost savings through tracking and identification of opportunities.
- Work with Accounting to resolve any invoice discrepancies. Review, validate and approve MRO related invoices (within approved thresholds).
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications
Education
Post-secondary education and supply chain training preferred.
Skills & Experience
- Two years Manufacturing and/or Procurement experience.
- Working knowledge of MRP
- Contract Management experience preferred.
- Word, Excel and Outlook knowledge essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent internal and external stakeholder relationship management skills.
- Candidate should be an innovative self-starter and be able to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
