TRANSCRIPT:

Hi, my name is Quinn from MacDon Industries. I'm a product support specialist for corn headers, and today we are going to go through configuring a New Holland IntelliView™ IV display for our MacDon C Series corn headers. Today we are working with a New Holland CR9.90 with UCM software version v40.2.0.0.

First up, you're going to navigate to your Toolbox icon. You're going to scroll over to your Head 1 settings. The combine should automatically detect that there's a corn header attached. We want to confirm all of the settings. First up, we have Header Type. We want to set this depending on combine configuration, whether you have a fixed or a variable drive feeder house. In this case, we have a variable drive feeder house. So, we're going to click “variable drive corn.”

We want to make sure that deck plates are “installed.” Hydraulic rotary end dividers are “installed.”  Frame type “rigid.” Knife fore aft “not installed.” Hydraulic reel reverse “not installed.”

Scroll down. In this case, we're setting up a C3012 c. Which is a 12 row 30-in corn head. We want to ensure “total rows 12,” “rows in use 12,” and “30-in spacing.”

Header center offset should be “zero.” Auto cut width is up to the operator's preference. Overlap mode depending on harvesting strategies. Scroll down. Work with Reset Mode. Again, operator's preference. 

Navigating to our Head 2 page. Reel speed minimum, we recommend setting to 3.2 km an hour or 2 mph. Maximum working height, we recommend 75% but is dependent on operator preference. Autofloat “enabled” depending on your auto header height configuration whether you are running and have a MacDon auto header height kit installed. In this case we have a “3 sensor” kit.

Auto header lift we recommend installed but is up to customer preference. Auto tilt, it's dependent on whether you want to be running lateral tilt on your combine feeder house. In this case, we have it not installed. Pressure override threshold. Refer to your combine operator's manual. And then we get into our header height sensitivities recommended based on header size and header weight, whether the header has chopping configured or not. The settings that we will go through are based on general recommendations, but should be tuned to specific size and header configurations. Header height sensitivity, we'll set to 150. Header tilt sensitivity we will set to 200. Header slow rate we'll set to 60. Header raise fast rate we'll set to 220. Header lower slow rate we will set to 60. And header lower fast rate we will set to 150. 

Note these settings are all starting points and can be modified based on operator preference and feedback from the field.
