We’re seeing huge productivity gains with our M150s, both in cutting our wheat, barley and canola as well as our hay crops. In fact, the A40-D header lets us cut pretty much 24 hours a day, even under really tough crop conditions. Because of these machines, we have much more time for other work on the farm.

These new M150 windrowers are just fantastic! My guys say these are the best machines that that they have ever operated. We are gaining 30% in overall productivity and we probably picked ourselves up a couple days a month since we got them. In alfalfa, under good conditions, we’re moving up to 5 MPH (8 km/h), whereas before we were cutting at 2.5 MPH (4 km/h) on average. We are cutting cleaner and not stripping the hay. In oats we are cutting at 3 MPH (4.8 km/h) in five to six ton crops where compared to 2 MPH (3.2 km/h) before. We can also quickly jump from oats to sudan to alfalfa. That’s one thing that we couldn’t do with our other machines, which took about an hour to change the reels and make adjustments when moving to another crop. They also save fuel. We can turn those engines down and we can run them at 80%. We are saving 18% on fuel costs alone. I’m extremely happy with them.
A full 102” (2590 mm) wide, the A Series conditioner rolls provide extra width and increase the amount of crop in contact with the rolls. This improves crimping performance and ensures thorough conditioning of the loading on bearings and cam-track for quieter operations. A40 D Grass Seed plant stem. The use of steel on steel intermeshing roll design ensures that leaves are retained for high protein value providing high quality hay, forage and alfalfa crops.
MacDon’s double windrow attachment feature lets you lay up to 48' (14.6 m) of crop in a single windrow. This is ideal for today s large forage harvesters and can translate into significant time and fuel savings for producers who employ this feature.

Improves the placement of the cutterbar in relation to the ground, thereby reducing wear on the cutterbar and enhancing the in field performance of the header.
Stub guards mount directly to the cutterbar to improve cutting performance in tough, stringy grass type crops, and crops that need to be cut close to the ground (such as grass, hay, and rice). Kits can be ordered based on size of product.
