The machine that’s redefined auger windrowing capacity, reliability, conditioning and windrow formation: these are the hallmarks of a great auger windrow. They are also exactly what you get with MacDon’s A Series Augers thanks to the single-minded efforts of MacDon’s engineers to produce the best auger windrower possible. They started their design journey by examining every contact point with the crop and enhancing each one so that crop flow and handling remain optimized under a wide range of conditions. The result is significantly increased capacity in just about all hay and forage crops.
But they didn’t stop with just increasing capacity. They’ve also added a number of other features to make your harvesting experience better than ever. Top among these is their up-powered all-hydraulic design with on-the-go hydraulic reversing capability of reel, sickle, auger and conditioner on the A40-D models. This allows the operator to be in full control of all harvesting adjustments from the comfort of the operator’s seat – a real time saver when adjusting to challenging crop conditions.
FEATURES • On-the-go hydraulic drive of reel, sickle, auger and conditioner allows the operator to be in full control of all aspects of hay and forage harvesting from the operator’s seat (header drive reversing requires valve on SP tractor and is only available on M205 and M155 models) • Cam forward reel tine control reduces loading on bearings and cam-track for quieter operation and longer life • Highly durable poly auger pans for improved crop flow and reduced dirt build up and rock damage • N-bar non-contact steel conditioner rolls for optimum conditioning action • Optional double windrower attachment

We have much more time for the rest of the farm thanks to our M150s.– Chris Gross, Riverbend Farms, Waldheim, SK
We’re seeing huge productivity gains with our M150s, both in cutting our wheat, barley and canola as well as our hay crops. In fact, the A40-D header lets us cut pretty much 24 hours a day, even under really tough crop conditions. Because of these machines, we have much more time for other work on the farm.
We are gaining 30% in overall productivity and we probably picked ourselves up a couple days a month.– Brad Schnoor, Chowchilla, CA
These new M150 windrowers are just fantastic! My guys say these are the best machines that that they have ever operated. We are gaining 30% in overall productivity and we probably picked ourselves up a couple days a month since we got them. In alfalfa, under good conditions, we’re moving up to 5 MPH (8 km/h), whereas before we were cutting at 2.5 MPH (4 km/h) on average. We are cutting cleaner and not stripping the hay. In oats we are cutting at 3 MPH (4.8 km/h) in five to six ton crops where compared to 2 MPH (3.2 km/h) before. We can also quickly jump from oats to sudan to alfalfa. That’s one thing that we couldn’t do with our other machines, which took about an hour to change the reels and make adjustments when moving to another crop. They also save fuel. We can turn those engines down and we can run them at 80%. We are saving 18% on fuel costs alone. I’m extremely happy with them.
A30-D A full-featured double knife drive unit designed to provide optimum performance under tough crop and terrain conditions. A40-D A robust and dependable double knife drive unit suitable for high acreage commercial operations. A40-D Grass Seed A model specially configured for harvesting.
A full 102" (2590 mm) wide, the A Series conditioner rolls provide extra width and increase the amount of crop in contact with the rolls. This improves crimping performance and ensures thorough conditioning of the loading on bearings and cam-track for quieter operations. A40 D Grass Seed plant stem. The use of steel on steel intermeshing roll design ensures that leaves are retained for high protein value providing high quality hay, forage and alfalfa crops.
MacDon's A40-D Grass Seed model features include independent speed control of auger, reel and sickle permitting precise on-the-go adjustments to crop conditions and windrow formation. You also get a 7 bat reel, special stub guards, an adjustable windrow opening with forming rods and manual or optional on the go hydraulic guard angle adjustment for quick and easy switching between short and long stubble lengths.
MacDon’s double windrow attachment feature lets you lay up to 48' (14.6 m) of crop in a single windrow. This is ideal for today s large forage harvesters and can translate into significant time and fuel savings for producers who employ this feature.
DOUBLE WINDROW ATTACHMENT WINDROW SIZE PLACEMENT
Double Placement 36 ft. (11.0 m)
Triple Placement 154 ft. (16.5 m)
1 Triple placement is possible with installation of GPS Auto Steer on your Windrower
Improves the placement of the cutterbar in relation to the ground, thereby reducing wear on the cutterbar and enhancing the in field performance of the header.
Stub guards mount directly to the cutterbar to improve cutting performance in tough, stringy grass type crops, and crops that need to be cut close to the ground (such as grass, hay, and rice). Kits can be ordered based on size of product.
Attached behind the cutterbar to reduce wear on the cutterbar wear plate and improve the movement of the header over uneven terrain, as well as in sand or firm soil conditions. Optional for A and 16' R Series.
