Warehouse Lead - Westward Parts Ltd.

PURPOSE and SCOPE:

The Warehouse Lead oversees shipping, receiving and/or logistics. Leads a group of warehouse employees and ensures productivity measures are being met. Each Warehouse Lead will be responsible for a functional area of the Warehouse.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Shipping/Receiving
  o Monitor functional area and ensure staff are handling product as per quality standards.
  o Monitor functional area and ensure staff is preforming activities as per the shipping, receiving and cycle count schedule.
  o Ensure trailers are being loaded and unloaded in a reasonable timeframe.
  o Assist staff with questions regarding basic work functions.
  o Perform functional area stand-up meetings.
  o Motivate and encourage teamwork to accomplish scheduled tasks.
  o Schedule couriers for time sensitive pick-ups.
  o Train new staff on basic functional area tasks.
  o Maintain functional area supplies.
  o Participate in OH&S meetings and collaborate on best practices.
  o Ensure daily clean-up of functional area by staff.
  o Any other duties assigned by Operations Supervisor.
• Logistics/Planning
  o Monitor Warehouse KPI’s, investigate and adjust areas failing to meet the standards.
  o Assign work to Warehouse personnel.
  o Plan inbound and outbound schedules.
  o Provide support for retail showroom

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum three to five years of progressive Shipping and Receiving experience, or equivalent experience.
• JD Edwards experience is beneficial.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Excellent Computer skills.
