Business Analyst

This position will be part of a large delivery team responsible for supporting our business systems. This cross-functional group collaborates with business and technical team members to propose, design, deliver and support solutions that bring business value.  The Business Analyst is an active thought partner and application visionary that shapes the technology demand among the business community. This position will play a key role in quality review of integrated projects in both methodology and results.


  • Analyze business requirements and propose solutions in conjunction with the MacDon Information Technology Team
  • Partner with business and technology partners to elicit, analyze, translate, and document business requirements into technical requirements
  • Analyze, document and test program development, logic, process flows and specifications
  • Assist in test script generation and performing the initial testing of new functionality and upgrades to the system
  • Partner with business partners to conduct user acceptance testing
  • Supervising end user testing in the test environment prior to production system cut over
  • Working with end users to document problems and proposing solutions
  • Provide mentoring/coaching to existing users of the system when required
  • Providing end user support as required for all modules of the Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne System and related interfaced applications
  • Coordinate the project resources to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget


Education and Experience

  • University Degree/Technical Diploma in Business/Commerce
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in a business environment using an ERP system is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience using a Supply Chain Management System
  • Experience with hands on use of Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is an asset
  • Experience with Bar Coding and Timekeeping technologies is an asset
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Warehouse Management and Distribution is an asset
  • Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills applied to understanding business functionality and translating them into application requirements
  • Experience working with data in large relational databases
  • Ability to create compelling business cases with accurate cost and effort estimations
  • Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office products 2010 or higher
  • Excellent understanding of business complexity and project interdependencies
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products
