A Brake Operator at MacDon Industries operates the Brake Press to bend and form materials with a large variety of tooling, in order to produce components.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive instructions from Supervisor
Responsible for set-up including understanding of what tooling to use
Count pieces as they are completed
Use calipers to measure equipment
Responsible for run quantities per operation sheet
Keep pace with production schedule and work within stated timelines to ensure targeted outputs
Receive and interpret written documents (SOP’s, OMS sheets etc.) as well as verbal in order to guide work processes
Ability to work safely and inform Supervisor of anything unusual or unsafe
Maintain a clean work area using 5S methodology
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 1-2 years’ experience running a Brake Press
Experience in component manufacturing operations
Ability to read from technical drawings
Knowledge and familiarity with basic hand-held and air tools.
Clear communication (understanding written and verbal cues).
Organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to meet the following requirements:
Physically able to lift up to 47 pounds.
Physically able to twist and bend frequently.
Physically able to walk and/or stand for eight hours.
Maintain a good attendance record and comply with company rules and regulations.
