“Before buying the 974 Flexdraper we saw it tested against competitive rigid and flex fronts in lentils at our local field days. The MacDon FlexDraper cut so low to the ground it was almost like cutting grass! It was just chopping clover off about 1.5 cm from the ground. You had to see it to believe it! Because the FlexDraper cuts so low we now get 95% of the beans. We couldn’t do that with our previous front. You can look out the back of the header and see how little loss there is compared to others. If we didn’t have the 974 we wouldn’t be able to pick the crop up.
A big benefit of the 974 Flexdraper is its ease of operation, from setting up and changing from rigid to flex. It’s so simple you can explain how to set it up over the phone in 5 or 10 minutes. I don’t have to worry about it getting wrecked before I get there. And unlike our old flex front, which we used to have to rebuild every two years, the 974 has virtually no maintenance cost.”
