“There were many reasons I chose MacDon’s 972 Harvest Header for my new John Deere 9860 STS combine. I really like the 972’s mechanical double knife drive which smooths out operation considerably. I also like the 972’s reel. Because it is supported by a center arm it is much more stable than reels without such support. This means that you can set the reel lower without worrying about finger breakage due to the reel sagging in the middle. One of the 972’s more important features is the ability to fine-tune header angle hydraulically on-the-go, allowing you to strike the optimal balance between picking all the peas and minimizing dirt intake.
