New A Series Augers Offer Increased Productivity and Reduced Maintenance.
MacDon, the Harvesting Specialists, have released their new A Series Augers for hay and forage harvesting. Available in both pull-type and SP header models, A Series machines have been designed for high hour commercial operations and to deliver optimum performance at every contact point with the crop. The result is significantly improved overall cutting and conditioning performance plus a significant increase in ground speed over the previous model.
Improvements on A Series Augers are extensive and include adjustable conditioning, a new heavy-duty cutterbar design and more robust construction overall, resulting in commercial quality machines that high acreage producers can depend on to get the job done while maximizing the nutrient value of their crops.
MacDon’s A Series Augers feature MacDon’s exclusive N-bar conditioner rolls which provide operators with the widest range of conditioning, from “kink” to a gentle crushing action, allowing them to maximize hay and forage nutrient values. The straight design of these conditioner rolls also makes them easier to repair or replace. The operator can also switch between close cut and longer stubble cutting lengths thanks to manual or optional hydraulic guard angle adjustment on all models.
A Series Augers are also better able to withstand impact from field obstacles because of MacDon’s new Z-shaped cutterbar, which incorporates rectangular reinforcement resulting in increased strength along both the horizontal and vertical planes. In addition, MacDon’s poly feed pans reduce mud build-up, ensuring smooth crop-flow and can be easily replaced if they are damaged by rocks or debris.
The A Series Auger pull-type model is being released in 14' (4.27 m) and 16' (4.88 m) cutting widths, while the SP header model will be available in 14' (4.27 m), 16' (4.88 m) and 18' (5.49 m) widths. The SP header models can be mounted on MacDon’s new M Series Self-Propelled Windrowers which feature MacDon’s patented Dual Direction™ technology for high-speed transport operation.
