Designing tooling to support welding, machining, forming, assembly and material handling.

Review engineering designs of parts and provide feedback regarding optimization or ease of tool design.

Stay abreast of Engineering Changes and update tool designs as necessary.

Interact with Manufacturing Engineers regarding tooling related problems.

Creating and issuing fully detailed instructions to Tool and Die Makers and Jigs and Fixture Makers for tool building including applicable metrology and inspection plans.

Assist in tool set-up instruction for machining, forming, welding and assembly.

Other duties as assigned.




University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Minimum five years related experience preferably in a farm equipment-manufacturing environment.

Experience in designing and implementing tools (fixtures, dies) in a mass production manufacturing environment.

Experience in manufacturing processes of conventional and CNC machining, laser cutting, brake press forming, punching, welding and powder coat painting.

Experience with Solid Edge and ANSYS stress analysis software.

Experience with APQP as it relates to Tool Design and production trials is an asset.

Excellent knowledge and experience applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

Practical knowledge in the operation and maintenance of farm equipment is a definite asset.

Good computer skills using Microsoft Office applications.

Must possess excellent presentation, organization, communication and logical problem-solving skills.

Team-oriented; good team player.
