Education and Experience
Degree or diploma in computer science or related discipline.
5 or more years of experience in Information Technology with focus on computer operations, WANs, LANs, network security hardware and software, virtual environments, and security solutions.
Experience with either Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar vendor.
Experience with Web Application firewalls and Load Balancers.
Experience with a secure email gateway platform.
Experience with security access governance tools or processes.
Experience working in an infrastructure environment supporting an ERP system would be ideal.
Some experience with any form of automation via tooling or scripting of the infrastructure, security, and configuration management layers.
Experience with Change Management processes and escalations.
Experience managing projects and a track record of delivering projects on time and without negative consequences to the business.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems and improve the security of an organization’s IT infrastructure.
The following would be also be desirable:
Linux administration experience.
Familiarity with configuration management tools (Chef, Powershell, PowerCLI, Puppet, Salt).
Experience with NSX or a similar software defined networking platform like Cisco ACI.
Experience with information access governance and management tools.
Firewall administration courses.
Skills and Knowledge
Deep understanding of networking, with specific knowledge of Cisco networking gear (most important: Nexus line of switches, MDS), and how to manage Cisco IOS features such as Virtual Port Channels, VLANs, Trunking, ACLs.
Strong understanding of virtual distributed network switches and network segmentation.
Ability to collaborate with teams and employees working across multiple locations.
Ability and willingness to work in a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

PURPOSE and SCOPE
As a member of the Infrastructure & Operations team, the Network Security Specialist will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and integration of the corporate network and security architecture. This individual will also be responsible for implementation and administration of network hardware and software, enforcing the network security policy, and complying with requirements of internal and external security audits and recommendations.
The Network Security Specialist is not only responsible for the day-to-day availability of the production infrastructure, but will also leverage his/her experience, skills, and new technologies to provide new and better solutions in a challenging technical environment.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The following are the main job responsibilities and priorities at which this position must excel:
Contributing to the design, integration, and installation of hardware and software.
Participating in managing the rollout, health, and support of projects related to IT Security solutions, Microsoft Active Directory, Web applications, and remote infrastructure solutions.
Ensuring that the Company’s network infrastructure and associated systems run smoothly and perform within agreed targets.
Maintaining and administering perimeter security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
Analyzing, troubleshooting and correcting network problems remotely and on-site.
Implement monitoring for security solutions and perform knowledge sharing with the team.
Ensuring problems and incidents are resolved and the root cause investigated to prevent any future occurrence.
