Purpose and Scope
To improve and support the manufacturing process, tooling and manufacturability of current products.
Support the manufacturing process in weld, machine, fabrication and/or assembly.
Lead and participate in improvement projects.
Conduct, Statistical Process Control and other statistical methods applicable to manufacturing.
Assist in design concepts for jigs and fixtures to support welding, machining, forming, assembly and material handling.
Create and maintain manufacturing instructions.
Create basic scripting and manpower requirements by model and rate.
Create and maintain tooling requirements by work center by model.
Perform time studies and maintain manufacturing Time Standards data.
Assist in the development and understanding of CNC and conventional machine tools, metal-cutting lasers and robotic welders.
Investigation of non-conformance to determine root causes and developing/implementing corrective action with follow-up as required.
Occasional travel may be required.
Evening on call and shift may be required.
University Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering.
P.Eng or EIT eligible.
Beneficial Skills and Knowledge
Must possess excellent presentation, organization and problem-solving skills.
Experience with process design as it relates to manufacturing of components.
Experience with the principles and methods of continuous improvement.
Experience in one or more of the manufacturing processes of machining, laser cutting, brake press forming, welding and assembly.
Project management experience is an asset.
Lean/Six Sigma training is an asset.
Practical knowledge in the operation and maintenance of farm equipment is an asset.
Must possess good English language and computer skills.
