Education and Experience
Degree or diploma in computer science or related discipline.
5 or more years of experience in Information Technology with focus on Virtualization, SAN, LANs, server hardware, network hardware, and software support.
Experience with VMware ESXi Enterprise or higher, vRealize Operations Manager, and VMware Site Recovery Manager.
Experience working in an infrastructure environment supporting an ERP system would be ideal.
Some experience with any form of automation via tooling or scripting of the infrastructure, security, and configuration management layers.
Experience with performance troubleshooting and monitoring.
Experience managing projects and a track record of delivering projects on time and without negative consequences to the business.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems and improve the efficiency of an organization’s IT infrastructure.
Experience in ITIL practices for incident/problem/change management is preferred.
The following would be also be desirable:
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure experience.
Microsoft Active Directory.
MS Exchange administration experience.
Linux administration experience.
Familiarity with configuration management tools (Chef, Powershell, PowerCLI, Puppet, Salt).
Experience with NSX or a similar software defined networking platform.
Experience with information access control and management tools.
Skills and Knowledge
Strong understanding of networking, and how to manage virtual port groups, distributed switches, and SAN environment – e.g. Cisco MDS.
Deep understanding of VMware virtualization products and Storage technologies.
Deep understanding of data replication and backup software – e.g. EMC RecoverPoint, EMC vPlex, EMC Networker or similar technologies from other vendors.
Ability to collaborate with teams and employees working across multiple locations.
Ability and willingness to work in a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills (including root cause analysis), critical thinking and attention to detail and quality.
Strong work ethic.
Exhibits a “sense of urgency” relative to resolving critical issues.

PURPOSE and SCOPE
As a member of the network operations team, the IT Infrastructure Specialist will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and integration of the corporate server and storage architecture. This individual will also be responsible for implementation and administration of network services and software, enforcing the system security policy, and complying with requirements of internal and external security audits and recommendations.
The IT Infrastructure Specialist is not only responsible for the day-to-day availability of the production infrastructure, but will also leverage his/her experience, skills, and new technologies to provide new and better solutions in a challenging technical environment.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The following are the main job responsibilities and priorities at which this position must excel:
Contributing to the design, integration, and installation of hardware and software.
Participating in managing the rollout, health, and support of projects related to VMWare, Storage array, and Cisco technologies.
Ensuring that the Company’s network infrastructure and associated systems run smoothly and perform within agreed targets.
Manage backup/recovery of IT Infrastructure and provide support for Disaster Recovery plans.
Troubleshoot performance issues and ensure proper monitoring is in place for the IT infrastructure environment.
Create and update documentation for the technical systems and infrastructure environment
Analyzing, troubleshooting and correcting infrastructure problems remotely and on-site.
Ensuring problems and incidents are resolved and the root cause investigated to prevent any future occurrence.
