At least 3 years’ of logistics experience preferred with excellent interpersonal skills.
Self-driven, motivated to excel and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be detail-oriented, able to handle multiple tasks, and adapt quickly to changing needs of the business.
University degree and/or CCLP or PLog certification.
Working knowledge of Excel and Word.
Working knowledge of Customs and Traffic for Canada-US and international freight movements.



The successful candidate will be responsible for: overseeing transportation providers; tracking carrier performance; rate benchmarking and freight cost variance; as well as managing and developing freight policies and procedures.  This individual will ensure departmental KPI’s are met and current audit systems in place are properly aligned with transportation industry guidelines. You will be a key participant in business initiatives including knowledge exchange, process improvement projects and strategic planning.

Collect, organize, monitor, evaluate and report on performance data through automated reporting and regular communication to management and business units. Identify trends and areas for improvement.
Generate data and provide analysis of monthly freight cost metrics, freight payables, and freight variances.
Request, negotiate, and implement rate requests (changes, fluctuations, etc.) as required.
Analyze root causes impacting freight costs and identify opportunities for growth.
Troubleshoot discrepancies thru the analysis of investigative details where necessary.
Manage incoming requests from all internal departments related to freight quotes and inquiries.
Coordinate appointments for scheduled outbound and/or inbound shipments from   vendor/distribution/customer location.
Effectively coordinate local traffic in/out of MacDon facilities.         
Investigate failed/lost shipments including documentation on preventative measures.
Review, maintain, and pursue NAFTA documentation.
Maintenance of customs records.
Assist in routing and movement of import goods from both domestic and foreign origins.
